Thomas M. Fansler Jr.

Chairman/ CEO, Project Manager


Tom Jr has been at Smock since the mid 60’s and purchased the company in 1967.  Since that time, he has grown the company from a small trucking and excavating subcontractor to a full service general contractor, providing a more comprehensive scope of services.  Tom Jr continues to tend to daily business operations as well as his project estimation and management load.
 
In his spare time, Tom Jr is active in a number of community organizations, including Indianapolis Municipal Band (he plays the tuba!), Speedway Lions Club, Christian Businessmen Connection, and Speedway Community Development Corporation.  Tom and his wife Nancy are very active members of Speedway United Methodist Church.  They have been married for over 50 years and have 3 sons, a daughter, 8 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren.
 
Tom Jr’s notable recent projects include IPL ductbanks and vault reconstructions throughout downtown Indianapolis and the demolition and erection of a new feed room at Quemetco.

Tom III grew up working summers for SFC.  Starting as a laborer and working his way up through the years has given Tom a thorough understanding of the construction process and all the key roles involved in making a successful project.  Tom’s artistic tendencies and meticulous attention to detail have served him well as he consults with owners and design professionals on design development, scheduling, constructability, and cost analysis on a wide range of projects.  Tom III is married with 3 children and 2 grandchildren.  In his spare time, Tom enjoys scuba diving, vacationing in tropical locations, and spending time in or near the pool.

Tom III’s notable projects include the Glick Peacewalk, Indiana Landmarks Hardscape, and the Taltree Railway Garden.

 
David Fansler Jr.

Vice President – Operations

Dave Jr. began working at SFC during his summer breaks from school in 1999. After school, he worked in the field as a laborer, operator, and as a Project Superintendent. He then progressed into the office as an Estimator/Project Manager. Over the years, he has learned the many aspects of the broad scope of work that SFC provides to its clients. He is experienced in General Construction, Industrial and Sitework Projects. The diverse range of projects has equipped him with the exceptional leadership and management skills that he uses in his day to day operations responsibilities.
 
David is married to his wife Stephanie, and they have 2 children, David III and Brynlie. His spare time is spent coaching his kids in sports, hunting, golfing, concerts, and finding a beach to plant a chair in. 

Dave Jr.’s notable projects include the Lilly Research Laboratory Hardscape, Marian University Alumni Hall, Ball Nurses’ Sunken Garden at IUPUI and the Cummins Indianapolis Headquarters Project.

Mike Pluckebaum

Controller


Mike has been a member of the Smock Fansler team since 2016, but he has nearly 30 years of construction experience. He has his BS from Ball State University and worked as a CPA prior to entering the construction industry.

Mike has two sons and in his free time enjoys playing golf, vacationing and watching sports.


 

Joe Hannold

Dispatch / Purchasing


Joe has been with SFC since September of 1984. He handles the purchasing and dispatch for the field supervisors and office. You can usually catch him at his desk, on the phone or radio. Joe has been married to his wife, Sally, for over 35 years and they have three grown children: Staci, Jenny, and Brian, and two grandchildren: Seana and Dawson. Joe keeps busy maintaining the five cars in the family.

Dia first joined SFC in 2004 and utilizes her over 19 years of construction background in the day to day operations to assist the project management and estimating departments.

Melissa has been with SFC since winter 2006. She is married to her husband Richie, and has two children: son, Travis, who proudly serves our country in the US Air Force, and daughter Emily. In her spare time, Melissa enjoys landscaping, walking, and crafting.
















Tina Fudger

Accounts Payable


Tina began working at SFC in early 2007 after relocating to Greenwood from California. She is a proud parent of 5 children: Stephanie, Tyler, Tiffany, and twins Geoffrey & Tara. Tina enjoys reading, bowling, camping, puzzles and going to concerts.
